Great win. Mid 2nd Q, I thought it could be lost but that was as far as GS got. Nuggets dominated the 2nd half without a doubt.

Braun is stupid. Staying there and not ready for the ball. Better catch that pass or fuc*ing move out of the paint No. There is no world where turning down an open 3 with nobody within 10 feet of you and passing it directly into the paint is a smart decision. Even if Braun catches that, defenders are there. The higher % play is the open 3. I didn't say that the pass was smarter than the wide open 3. You learned by now that if Jokic sees you under the basket he'll pass on any shot for the assist and you fuc*ing be ready if you're already there or don't even go there

Kings have a back to back tonight and tomorrow before heading to Denver on the 28th, so we'll have a rest advantage. In the meantime it would be nice if Sacramento would knock off the Clips for us.

That Nikola Jokic guy is the best all round offensive basketballer of all-time.
Outrageous run of games. But crucially almost everyone came along for the ride. All it takes is for Jamal to click into gear as he did in the 2nd qtr and the Nuggets become monsters.

I think that this was their best road win this year, down 14 early, 3rd game in 4 nights and they executed very well when it mattered. The win at Boston was better, IMHO.

IS EVERYONE FEELING BETTER? LOL Best part is seeing Zeke contribute. His agility will be really helpful with teams like the Pels and Minny.

Nuggets are one home win away from satisfying Phil Jackson’s ‘40 before 20’ rule. I’ll be there to see a long overdue drubbing of that f***ing gimicky team from ballSac.

Very fun game. Jokic dominated despite Draymond inexplicably being allowed to mug him and then yell at a ref from 12 inches away. Tony Brothers should have an ESPN gig. Murray and Gordon were also great and KCP is as good as it gets at defending Curry. And while Porter didn’t have a good scoring game, he contributed and showed off the growth in his all-around game. When he got run off the three point line, he showed some very nice ability to put the ball on the floor and get to open spots or pass the ball and relocate. Playing regularly for almost 2 seasons straight now has paid dividends in his skill-set.
I give Malone credit for giving Nnaji another chance. Nnaji mostly sucks, but it’s important for the team to get something out of him. For now the obvious instruction to him to try to dunk everything is clearly the smart move — it won’t work long term but its getting him back on track in terms of being some kind of NBA player.

ESPN studio people: The Nuggets are good and Jokic annoys the hell out of us when he just decides the Nuggets are going to win and he does that when he feels like it. Now can we get back to comparing Anthony Edwards to Michael Jordan?

Zeke is going to be fine, as long as his coach shows confidence in him. Some players are like that, as psychologically they get in their own heads if they think they have to look over at the coach after a particular play in fear of getting yanked. Can’t play loose and smooth like that. Zeke needs to know he is as good as many role playing backup bigs (such as JMG whom I mentioned the other day) if only he believes in himself and his coach believes in him too. I believe Malone and Booth consulted over the break about Zeke, and came to an agreement that he needs to be played, and played through his mistakes (not yanked) in order to get him going and restore some value for us, and ultimately give us flexibility to choose to trade him this summer or keep him if he is showing progress and fitting in better. So far, so good. And don’t forget, Zeke just turned 23 on January 9th. He’s like a young deer (sometimes in the headlights and sometimes not). Playing some backup 4 as he did yesterday with Jokic will help him a lot, btw.

Yada, yada, yada. Yes, if you baby Nnaji and are very careful about how to use him, and put him on the court in only the ideal situations (not matched up against bigger or stronger or more athletic real centers, of which there are many), and it happens to be when he’s not injured, which is often, he sometimes is decent.
I’d rather have 27 year old rookie Duop Reath making the league minimum, who is a very good shooter without having any good playmakers on the court with him, and who is naturally stronger than Nnaji and who doesn’t appear to need to be treated with kid gloves. Or a bunch of other guys who are just guys (Drew Eubanks is also a minimum contract guy, for example).
But yes the Nuggets need to try to get something out of Nnaji.

Or a bunch of other guys who are just guys (Drew Eubanks is also a minimum contract guy, for example). But yes the Nuggets need to try to get something out of Nnaji. He shouldn’t be used as a backup center. That’s the first problem with Zeke. He’s already a decent backup PF, but you don’t see that since he has rarely played the position since the 2021/22 season. It’s not Zeke’s fault that Malone changed his role to backup C, for which he’s not well-suited, at the beginning of the 2022/23 season. He puts out an effort but he lost his confidence along the way with how he was being put in and taken out of rotation, ie yanked around. If Malone used him to his strengths, as a backup PF, he’d already look like someone at age 23 who’s very much worth his extension. Unfortunately, that’s not what has taken place with the Nuggets. Hence, I’m sure Booth discussed this with Malone over the break. And now you see the Zeke renaissance. As for your bringing up his frequent injuries, that’s just so much yada yada. I find it ironic you’d bring that up since Zeke has been healthy all season. At age 23, hopefully he’s past his physical growing pains (knees and otherwise).
