how the hell did Watson fall to the end of the first round? unreal He did nothing at the college level and was raw as they come. I really think those workouts with PG13/KD are helping him. He has a smooth offensive game and plays within his role. He's a guy, unlike Braun who I'm excited to expand his offensive role. He's a pretty good dribbler/play maker.

But he was considered the best player in California high school when UCLA signed him. Also we saw his YouTube one-on-one workouts with Banchero. He definitely had potential, but UCLA had a veteran squad led by Jaquez and he couldn’t get on the floor.

I just don't know how you could pass on Watson's unbelievable upside over guys like Patrick Baldwin Jr and Blake Wesley lol. the end of the first round is when you aim high, not dream of drafting the 10th man in your rotation.

Typical Jokic bullshit. I'm so sick of fans not being annoyed by this s**t. Nuggets playing a completely dogshit team at home. Jokic refuses to take a shot. Nuggets struggle. It's so f***ing annoying. And I don't want to hear "oh, he shouldn't need to shoot to beat Detroit." Go try playing any sport 4 on 5. Lol You see that he can. And not just that he can beat bad teams, he can also destroy them without scoring. Along with destroying bad teams without scoring he also does a few more things like making a strong case for his buddy Murray for the all star game and developing young players where they're gaining huge confidence. Jokic>>> than casual Nuggets fans

It's January 7th.
We literally lost 10/17 down the stretch last year as we coasted into the playoffs.
Literally the only two factors that matter are health and the development of Watson/Braun/Strawther.

Literally the only two factors that matter are health and the development of Watson/Braun/Strawther. I would slightly nuance this to say it does matter to finish with a top 2 or 3 seed, simply because while we *can* win road playoff games, it's better if we have more home games. But also, we're on pace to do so. If we were like 21-17 and fighting for 7th after 38 games I'd be worried, but 26-12 is actually a game better than this point last season, with a nasty road-and-b2b-heavy schedule and extended absences from key players. We're half a game back of the TWolves for the 1 seed in the west. If that's what it looks like when we're coasting and don't have full health, we have a very high chance of finishing with a good-enough seed to have homecourt for at least a couple rounds of the playoffs, and in that case coming in with health and developing enough young guys to have a good 8-9 man rotation means we're in good shape for another deep playoff run. Still frustrating to have a first 18 minutes like this game, but then the next 24 minutes or so were beautiful, and PWat especially is developing how we need him to.

It's not like the Nuggets are fighting for life like Lakers or GSW. This is 3rd or 4th game where Joker starts playing in the 3rd Q and the lead from 1 or 2 goes to 20 and the game is over. For me, the most important thing right now would be that Murray gets selected for the All-Star team. The guy fully deserves it. Jokic, Malone and the entire team seem to be in full support of it. 21/4/6.2 with almost 2 stocks on 47/42/90 shooting splits is elite and more than enough for the all star team. Now will see if that is going to be enough or not. A few more games like last night should be enough

also, man, Rocky Jr's half court form is so frustrating. I was in an end section so I could see his foot positioning and he starts too narrow and then does almost like a micro-jump where he smashes his feet together while he's winding up the shot, so he doesn't have a good base. So his balance is really inconsistent and his shot is all over the place.

Some notes on Watson:
1. Calvin Booth has been tracking PWat since PWat was in high school in Long Beach. Calvin didn't listen to the mocks - PWat was available and ours.
2. Calvin traded into the first round specifically so he could have Watson on a 5 year deal (rather than the shorter 2nd round deal). Calvin was criticized on draft night for not taking him in the 2nd round - but mad genius as always - Calvin wanted PWat on an extended rookie deal for cap flexibility.
I really don't know what else to say? You can have all the analytics and scouts in the world - but diamonds still fall out of the sky for those who look carefully (which is awesome).
