I'd agree with "don't count on him resigning". That'd be a bonus, but if you go for AD what you're really looking for is this playoffs plus next playoffs -- like, that's your chance to be a contender, and then 2 years out you might or might not have to find a replacement.
I could get behind Millsap, Murray, Vandy, MPJ, pick for AD + current-rotation-filler but I definitely wouldn't go higher.

and we're not entirely sure AD doesn't share those concerns also. Durant articulated perfectly why star players don't want to team up with Lebron - you get all of the blame for losing while Bron gets the credit for winning.
going for a tier 1 superstar (without giving up your best player) is worth that risk.
I respect what Masai did even if KL walks this summer.

This season is GSW locked to win it all with AD on Lakers,Nuggets or any other team in the west will not change that. Next year depends on will KD resign. Anyway our young core will be in peak when LeBron is going to be washed up, when GSW will be finished, OKC will be finished, Portland will be finished etc...
West future is in Nuggets, Jazz, Mavs, Kings hands. Do we really wanna bet that much to compete now when our young core is not in peak, without experience (including our coach and coaching staff) for this and next year.
Entire NBA league not only West will be there to grab once GSW story is over. I like our chances the most, and by keeping our young core, nursing this selfless style of play will put us in the position to attract the best of the best free agents on the market.
We should tend to cherish what we have and impose our style. This is copy-league, make others envy on us. I am so excited about our future, after those 3 minutes of Vanderbilt i am convinced that we have another steal of 2nd round. I am scared to even think about MPJ, having goosebumps just by thinking about him and what he can give us.
AD with Jokic is a fantasy dream, but what we have and how our future looks is also a fantasy dream. Let's give them a chance guys. They deserve it.
I believe in this team and i am all in to see what they can give us this and next year. AD is generational type of player but he is not LBJ or MJ. He is not a leader, he is not someone that can lead a mediocre team to championship which scares me that if we are not able to dethrone GSW in this and next year (highly unlikely) he will leave us 100%.
We can have GSW type of dynasty or Memphis type at worse, none of us is Nostradamus to see what the future will bring us. Be smart in decisions, add/trade where we are/will have weakness in PO and ride on teamwork and family. Everyone in that locker room is developing something unique. There is no ego,envy,hate...only support, love, happiness. That is healthy environment, something that is hard to build but easy to be destroyed.

perfectly legitimate argument, I have a hard time disagreeing with any of it (well, maybe I'm not ready to crown the Kings and Mavs just yet).
but man, AD is so f***ing good. last year, the Pels were elite defensively with Cousins and AD sharing the court, but terrible with just Cousins on the floor. AD is a KG level defender, he covers so much ground that he can mitigate most if not all of Jokers limitations on the defensive end while Joker can take AD to even another level offensively. they're such a good fit that I feel you have to make a play for him, even if you believe in our future (which I do).

I've watched most of Cousins GSW games and he is absolutely trash at defending the P&R$

Probably not. Do your due diligence, and I assume it won't take long to sniff out that it's Lakers or bust and winning is kind of important but not really the #1 thing as much as his brand.
But TC and company will certainly poke around. He's way to good to act like we don't need. Everybody needs him.
And he's a 34% 3 shooter last season - he's not a non-shooter. Not great, but not even f***ing close to Nurk.
NO are complete dipshits if they trade him at the deadline. Get to the summer and get Boston involved and whoever has the #1 pick.

Yeah - but you risk him being injured because the dude is literally made of glass. If you’re going to wait until the summer, then rest him the rest of the season.

The friends I have in the FO are completely silent about AD - this means they are exploring a trade.
I also think the team came out flat tonight against Memphis because everyone is nervous about being moved.
I don't think we make the trade - but I'm pretty sure that TC will flirt and see what it would take to get AD. I also think the FO is figuring out whether AD would sign an extension upon arrival (and the answer to that is basically "no").
Just say no to AD.

I will say this though - don’t be surprised if this comes down to LA, Denver and NY.
I’m confident that Demps will ask TC to make smoke-and-mirror offers only for the sake of driving the price up on LA and NY - and I do think that TC will comply. However, he won’t need to do that once Dolan goes into irrational mode.

Reading the Pels statement i wouldn't be surprised if they send out Holiday, Niko and Randle for picks. Shut down AD until summer and then add Boston to the mix of bidders.
They don't have to trade him now.

They don't have to trade him now. Many are saying trade now not to lose value... but if no really good offer comes, it might not be too bad to see what exact picks some of the tankers have on offer... Apart from Zion, I haven't seen much hype about this draft.

For me I would be okay with offering Harris and Millsap since we've basically shown this year that we can win without them.
Less reluctant with Murray as he's been our second best player this year but AD is an all time talent and if we can be frontrunners to get him with an extension and form a super team doing so then I'd be all over it.

Would hate the NBA if LeBron, AD and Klay are on the same team next season though.
