I don't see how anybody can say he will never be a top 3 center. Howard, Bynum, and Chandler are the top 3 centers. Anybody really want to argue that when Chandler was 24 that they knew he would be great? I think people have some weird opinions on the center position in todays NBA, all you need is a guy that protects the rim, rebounds, and can finish on pick and roll. They don't have to have a great offensive game. If you've read anything on McGee you should realize the kid has never been taught how to play basketball correctly. He is JR Smith at 7 feet, but actually wants to get better. JR Smith with the right attitude and mindset would be an all star by now, McGee plays a harder to find position and skill set. You can't judge McGee on what he did in Washington. What's kinda funny is that I'd essentially written off Chandler even more so when Nene crushed Chandler back when we killed NO in the playoffs just a few years ago. Now he's elite after what 1.5yrs?

Other than a couple games on that road trip, he's been pretty good during his entire time as a Nugget.
He's averaging 10/6 and 2 blocks in 21 mpg as a Nugget. If his ft% wasn't so terrible, his PER would probably be similar to Faried's. Granted he doesn't have the same impact, but it's kind of crazy to see how similar their numbers are.

I can't complain about the production he has been providing. He probably deserves most of the minutes that are given to the centers on this team. Koufos has been given an opportunity to step up as a starter, and while he hasn't been terrible, he hasn't done anything to warrant giving him the starters job long term, at least in my opinion he hasn't. Mcgee is going to get 8 probably 9 million or more from someone, and it would probably be dumb for the Nuggets not to match. Then again, maybe they made this deal with another trade in mind down the road

im not judging him from washington. well then shut up about it. hes done nothing deserving of your tears. especially since you have already admitted that u want us to spend 10 mill on a "not great" player. predicting how much money YOU would throw at him after every regular season game will make u crazy.
