Boise State (11-1, 7th in the BCS rankings) got ripped off, they get matched up against Arizona State (6-6, nowhere close to being in the top 25). If I was BSU, I would refuse the invitation [image]

Cant wait for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

On a side note, I hope RG3 wins the Heisman, but I have a Baylor bias.

Am I the only person outside of the Alabama/LSU fan base who thought their first game was excellent and is looking forward to another?

I am an SEC guy, so naturally it doesn't bother me, but it would still be nice to see some other match ups in the other bowl games based on rankings. Most of these bowl games are a joke.

The whole bowl system is and has been a joke, but it seems like its only getting worse. I wish they would just go to a f***ing playoff already.

But I too am excited about the championship, I thought the first game was good and these are the two best teams in my opinion. I mean Okie State has been great this year but their one loss is too Iowa State and Bamas is to LSU, gotta go with Alabama there. I think Okie State vs Stanford has the potential to be a really good game too.

I'm willing to cut OSU a little slack because of the plane crash before the Iowa State game. And I'd love if LSU got a shot to beat OSU on top of all the other good teams they've beaten this year.

But if it's gonna be Bama-LSU, I'm happy with that too. I like defense and special teams and good execution.

That first game between the two was a great game. One of the things that I find funny is when Oregon was treading in the top 4 for most of the year nobody had an issue with another LSU/Oregon match up for the championship game, but since it comes down to two SEC teams it is a crime even though they were the clear two top teams in college football this year, at least I think they were.

LSU's defensive backfield is better than most NFL starting backfields and they are fun to watch.

The Stanford/OK St. game will be decent, the Rose bowl isn't bad and there are two or 3 other games of interest, but the majority of the games are poorly matched.

The system needs to change. I was listening to a report where the TCU coach was bitching about Peterson of BSU voting for TCU at number 18, he was complaining about how his team beat the Bronco's, blah, blah, blah, and then it was revealed that he did the exact same thing with his vote last year to the Bronco's [image]

Stop letting the coaches vote would be a good start.

The Boise State game turned out better than I thought it would, Zona State managed to keep them under 60. BSU got ripped the F off by the BCS.

The BCS is just retarded period. Every team sport (that I can think of at least) whether professional or collegiate finishes their season with a tournament to determine the winner...except one. Just stupid.

yeah i hope the individual conferences/universities start taking power away from bowl committees somehow. if bsu did what you mentioned and just boycotted the game and got another top-10 team to do the same thing and play bsu instead that would be a good start. this is the first year i'm not watching the bcs championship, only because neither team really excites me to watch them and i dislike both of them pretty close to evenly.

right? the ncaa basketball tourney is probably the greatest american sporting even there is and makes insane amounts of money, yet college football actively fights against that model even though a football tournament might do even better since football is a more popular sport anyway.
